About Jodo Shinshu
The history of Jodo Shinshu Shinrankai begins 800 years ago when Master Shinran was alive.
Throughout Master Shinran's 90-year lifetime, he taught only "A path for any person to become truly happy", the Vow of Amida Buddha.
Jodo Shinshu Shinrankai took over this teaching of Master Shinran and continues to share it around the world explaining it accurately and in an ease to understand way.
General information about Shinrankai Center
The size of the large screen on the stage is 30 tatami mats. Even if you sit in the back of the 2000 tatami hall, you can clearly see the letters on the blackboard of the stage.
The "flat speaker" used in the 2000 tatami hall is a special speaker that transmits sound without diminishing; in this way you can clearly hear the lecture even at the back of the hall.
Four electronic blackboards are installed on the left and right sides of the stage and can instantly display Buddhist words explained in the lecture. Letters can be circled or highlighted by special pen.
The Shinrankai Center is designed for wheelchair users and physically challenged people.
There is a doctor on staff in the medical room on the 1st floor of the main hall. AED and ostomate facilities are also available.
During the lecture you can leave your child with a staff nanny.
You can listen to lectures with simultaneous interpretation in English, Chinese and Portuguese. You can borrow a special receiver. Please apply in advance.
The Shinrankai Center has a large free parking lot. There are also shuttle buses from the nearest stations: Kosugi Station, Takaoka Station, and Shin-Takaoka Station.
You can enjoy a beautiful Japanese garden next to the Center.
